I've had a look at the technical data, as the sensor and emitter are integrated into the same unit, with only a 3mm gap between, the only way i think you could use it would be to mount it in the track and have the guide pin run through it. It could be a mission to mount it, as getting it ...

I can tell you that the stop watch isn't accurate at all. I ended up buying one of the AFX electronic control stations. But they're about $160 new. A mate of mine sorted something out for his mates scaletrix, so I'll have an ask.
