Didn't want to ask on the TM board, but is this possible? I've read a few articles and from what I gather it can be done. The ex rung up her ISP ( KOL) and they said no. She's on a desktop running XP Home. The son wants a laptop for his birthday, hence the reason for the question. Would be a waste of money if connection at her place is not possible.

Hello. Yes it can. What you need to do is have the one with the modem act as a Gateway. The second computer would connect to it via a network setup. And for the laptop to connect to the internet, the setup on the laptop would be to use the PC as a gateway to connect to the web. This also means the PC must be on and connected. OR if you just setup the Laptop to dial with the same account (just cant have both online that way at the same time)

Thanks for the reply swivel. So no other hardwear required apart from a cable connecting the laptop and desktop? I'm completely ignorant when it comes to connecting two computers in the same household. Anyway will have a look at those links you put in your post.

Hello. That should be all. If you have a hub, just connect both systems to the hub, and that would work as well. Still have to tell the Laptop what the gateway Ip was
