Do this
What you need is a music system with a turntable that has a "line out" jack. this jack could be the rca type, Din or some other...not important. Then you need a jack on your pc for "line in". Usually on the sound card. With the right lead, with the correct ends, plugged in between the stereo and the pc it sould be possible to play an l.p. through the pc speakers by selecting "line in" on the play back control. If you can hear music you are half way there. Next you need some sound recorder program to capture the music being played. Most sound cards are sold with it. I use "wavestudio" that came with my Creative sound card. Now put the LP on, select line in on the "recording options" of the play back control. In the wavestudio program set up the recording options you want and hit record. When the track is finished, save it in wave format.

You can edit the track to remove silence, adjust the volume, and in Wavestudio 7, remove clicks and hiss to the level required. When all recorded I use Windows media player to record the music to a music cd. Or convert to MP3 for other things. Recording in wav format makes a large file but retains better quality. I have made very acceptable copies of vinyl and Cassettes onto cds. Good luck
