"Layouts" show us ya layout!
Re: "Layouts" show us ya layout!
Got the timing system up and running !!! Second attempt.
The first attempt I used an "all in one" foto tranisiter & UV LED, unfortunately the guide pins are a bit to small & only registered a hit 25% - 50% of the time.
Second attempt used the more conventional track mounted 5mm foto transistors & 5mm LED's above. 20,000 candle power, expensive but they work 100%.
I have a few shots of the 2 attemps attached.

Have alot more trucks than that.

I thought I was wrong once, But I was Mistaken

I own no trucks. I have truck envy.
For what it's worth, late Saturday I set up the second track layout that I posted and am wrapped with it. Clockwise it's a total dog but anti-clockwise it's brilliant. Have run a heap of laps with LL 'M', SG+, Turbo and XT but gotta say the most fun of the lot was the ol' MT's. They love it. The length of the straights is just right to enable you to squeeze the juice on and off in all the right spots. Hard to explain but it makes for really working a lap.
My reflexes don't allow me to do that with an SG+, as much as I like them.

I'm a Tyco guy but do like racing MT's!! I know what you mean about the trigger action involved with the MT's. They are a fun chassis. Have you run the new Auto World Xtraction chassis with the traction magnet??
