Nah, I don't have any of the newer Xt's with the neo (I think it's neo) dot mag in the rear. Mine are all just straight MT rips. They are a decent chassis and their peformance is a notch up on the A/FX but I still prefer the original. When I manage to set the MTs up correctly they are just soooooo smooth. Cheers

Yes Neo dot magnet. They are not a bad chassis and manage to corner quite well. So when you say original MT you mean the non mag AFX chassis???

Sorry, I think my wording confused things. I have several Aurora A/FX MagnaTraction cars (motor mags are visible from underside of chassis) and it's these that I really enjoy.

I also have a few AW XTraction cars which are just a copy of the A/FX version. There are a couple of XT variations I know of. The earlier XTractions did not have the neo dot mag up the back, they just used the motor mags for stickage. The XTraction motor mags are a bit stronger than A/FX and the cars perform a little better with simple tuning. I still prefer the feel of the A/FX though.

The current run of XTraction has the neo dot magnet for additional stickage but I don't have any of these.

I hope this clears it up, sometimes I don't explain myself too well.......Michael

Stickage! Hehehehe. Good word!!! You have all of that right! The early MT chassis used the short motor magnets and the chassis was flat on the bottom. In other words if you looked at the bottom of the chassis you would not see the motor magnets. They are referred to as Non Magnatraction. If you can see the magnets then they are just Magnatraction. Some AFX 4-gear specialty chassis are Non mag as well! Some of the Non Mag chassis really hum along but suffer from less stickage!!!

Amen to that Brother!! They're certainly not the fastest and they are fussy little pups but I love 'em.

Dave, I'd tell a lie if I laid claim to the term 'stickage'. I came across it in some post on some board. In context it was used to distinguish between traction generated from tyres v traction from mags. For tyres they used the term 'traction' and for magnets it was 'stickage'. I figured it was good enough to pinch.

While on the MT's, I managed to pick up some MT tune up kits this week. I'm low on spares so these were a bonus. I have a few idle MT cars that have been screaming for new parts so I can now return them to running condition. It's lean pickings now for these parts so I might return a couple of cars to original working order and retire them while the bodies are still good.

Yes, Parts are hard to come by (well cheap anyway).

Ask as you never know what the boys have.

All my good running gear is under bodies in my display, the old funny chassis are what I run.

AW chassis are the go for parts to get the AFX chassis going (well thats what I use them for).

Gut them for the brush's, springs, gear clip and pickups. then chuck the rest under a body to look good around the track.

Hi all,

Tomo, I have taxed a few parts from some AWs for the MTs and used parts from the AW tune up kits. Everything seems to work without a problem with the exception of the AW brush springs. I find they are too long and the guage of the wire used seems too large when used in the MT. The springs seemed too hard. Have you found the same? I tried cutting a coil or two off them but it screws the end of the spring up. Dunno, maybe I'm too fussy.

Dave, I saw in Dan's advertising area that he was posting again. From what I gather he has had a rough time and as yet I have not met him through the forum. When he gives the thumbs up I might have to bang an order in. Thanks for the tip.

BTW, if you are reading this Dan, hi mate, I'm Michael.

Cheers guys.
