"Layouts" show us ya layout!
Re: "Layouts" show us ya layout!
Gib is too thick! 6mm custom wood is as close as you'll get! I'm about to do this (scored a Jigsaw this weekend) I'll post pics when I get started. The other option would be thicker custom wood and Router out the shape of the track and at the correct depth.

Yeah Gib is thicker upto 10mm, but you can shape the sides a lot easier with a knife, also a lot easier to get a closer fit rather than a jigsaw (well I wasn't the best when I gave it a go).

Thanks guys and cheers Dave mate for posting pictures
Na not single Tomo just try and get out there when i can , and the wife likes the new room which helps
Been along process so far but are slowely getting some where now , biggest problem is i have to build everything so i can remove it from room as arnt planning on staying at this house, so things take abit longer to make it all removable without damaging it , it all comes apart in sections including all grandstand background so i can get it out a normal house door , bloody headache at times as i still want it to look good

Re: "Layouts" show us ya layout!
Well that's just good planning. Makes my Gib idea lame (yeah yeah I hear you laughing Dave).
How easy was it to route the track ?? Still have the 2 sheets of 2440 x 1220 x 20 in the shed (under a heap of (wont say what the wife says)).

The base is 18ml custom wood , then i laid out track design and slide 6ml custom under track 1 sheet at a time then traced around track to get pattern , then took 6ml out again with track marked on it and cut it out with a gigsaw then laid pieces cut out around track , when happy just glued it to the 18ml sheet and started next sheet , big job but works
Re: "Layouts" show us ya layout!
